We are in need of places to house and persons to feed and transport college students again this year (like last). They will be here in March canvassing, from March 6-13^th.  UPDATE There will be 8 students coming (2 boys & 6 girls). The students will also introduce themselves at the March 10^th Lenten Dinner. THANK YOU

The P.A.T.T. group would like to thank everyone again who helped with the rummage sale. With all of our efforts the sale turned into a huge success. We were able to raise about $1,300 and will receive about $600 in matching funds. The money will be split between the church and school and used where they see fit.  Thanks to everyone who helped set up and price things on Friday and all of those who helped with the many jobs on Saturday. The biggest thanks goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Koivisto for all their hard work in putting the sale together. Without their work the sale would not have been as successful as it was.

CHURCH PICNIC GAMES

This year again with the church picnic being held a Rotary Park we will take advantage of everything that it has to offer us.  The kids will be able to use the playground at the park, we will once again play softball for all of the adults and teens, and we will have other smaller games for the children to play throughout the picnic. If you any games you would like to play we encourage you to bring those also. If you have any questions please speak to someone on the games committee; Darren Carson or Chris Denney.

30^th ANNIVERSARY DVD

CONGRATULATIONS SAINTS BASKETBALL

This past weekend our school’s basketball team took part in the California Lutheran High School Basketball Tournament.  Although we came up short in all 3 of our games, the team played hard and had fun.  The team was awarded the sportsmanship award for our division.  Teams are rated based on the teams, coaches, and fan’s attitude.  The team did such an exceptional job that they received a perfect rating on all scoring sheets; this was the first time in the history of the tournament that this has ever been done!   The members of the basketball team that attended the tournament were:  Savannah Jones, Ellie and Charlie Wachtel, Cole and Warren Fasching, Miranda Carson, and Krystian Jameson.  If you see them make sure to congratulate them on this award!  

30^th ANNIVERSARY DINNER

Next Sunday is our Anniversary Dinner at 12:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. If you have not yet returned your slip to Mary please do so. President John Moldstad Jr. president of our Synod and former pastor here will be here next Sunday to give the sermon as well as a special presentation during Bible Study.  Please be sure to attend this special celebration.

Thank you to everyone for their donations and time for the Rummage Sale!  Many hands made the fund raiser fun and easy.  We do not know the “for sure” total on the Rummage Sale so Mr. Denney would have that. The guys did a beautiful job on the rock also!!!  The Koivistos.

PRISM INTEREST?
Kelly has been approached about starting a Phase I PRISM Class for this Lenten season. If you would be interested in finding out more about PRISM or would like to join Phase I, please contact Kelly in the church office for more information.

Our Saviour Lutheran School Saints would like to invite you to their first basketball game of the season! The Saints at Bethany Christian Bible School, 1200 Park Terrace, off the highway near the old Wal-Mart. SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

If you know of any families that currently have school age children in public school K-8^th grade and would like to send their child to our school, but might not be able to afford it, have them see Kelly in the church office. There are scholarships available that CAN be applied to the FALL 2010 School Year, but only to children that go from public to private school. See Kelly for more information.

LUTHERAN GIRL PIONEERS

The Lutheran Girl Pioneers Caravan #517 is going to participate in a recycle art contest with Biosphere 2 and will be working on it during the month of February. If you have any of the listed recyclable items that you would like to donate to the girls for the project, please bring to our next LGP meeting February 10.  Paper bags, plastic bags, plastic water bottle lids, small cardboard boxes (tea box size), MAGAZINES, and newspapers. FOLDING TABLES FOR SALE

The Quilters and Crafters had purchased new light weight 6ft tables that are much easier to move, so now we have too many tables. Anyone who would like to make a goodwill offering for the old 8ft folding tables that are in the Fellowship Hall, please see Kelly in the church office or Rodger Duberowski for more information

LADIES WEDNESDAY BIBLE CLASS

Is resuming on Wednesday February 3^rd at 9am. The ladies are studying 2 Corinthians. Come for bible class, stay for lunch. Dee is requesting that ladies bring a sack lunch this Wednesday.

OSLS MEGAPHONES

Recently the PATT Organization purchased personalized OSLS Megaphones to promote our school name in the community. Anyone may buy theses megaphones for $1. The megaphones may be filled with popcorn for .50 at certain church and school functions.  See Mrs. Denny to purchase one

LUTHERAN BOY PIONEERS

The LBP are selling homemade sub-sandwiches just in time for the Super Bowl. An order form was placed in Sunday’s bulletin. If you would like to order the cost of the subs are $3.50 with your choice of ham or turkey. Orders will be taken from Jan. 31 to Feb. 4^th; sandwiches can be picked up on Saturday Feb. 6^th in the Fellowship Hall.     Order forms some are available in the church office and orders can be dropped of there or with Rudy Koivisto, Darren Carson or Blair Fasching.

LADIES MISSION RALLY

Thank you! To everyone who helped support, prepare or helped in anyway with the great success of this year’s AZ-CA Ladies Mission Rally held on Saturday, Jan. 30.

LENTEN SERVICES AND SUPPERS

OUR SAVIOUR LUTHERAN SCHOOL RUMMAGE SALE

Is set for Saturday February 20^th at the school. The last two years have been such a great success, we are hoping to do even better this year. If you would like to help in anyway Tami and Rudy Koivisto are the coordinators for this year’s sale. Sign-up sheets will be in the Narthex. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the school on Friday February 19^th . More information to follow.

Ladies Guild 2010 Mission Rally

This year the Ladies Mission Rally has chosen the Mission to the Children in conjunction with WELS and the Iglesia Evangelica Luterana Confesional in Mexico to help bring the Gospel to children and their families in northwestern Sonora Mexico.

This mission effort also helps them meet their basic physical needs.

Everyone can help with donations even if you aren’t planning on attending the Ladies Mission Rally on Jan. 30^th.

Listed below are the items the mission is requesting:

School Supplies (all items-elementary school)

Vitamins – multivitamins

Hygiene Articles – toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap deodorant, shampoo, etc.

New Mother Items – baby blankets, baby clothes (gently used is ok) diapers, etc.

Items can be brought to the Mission Rally on Jan. 30^th or the church office prior to Saturday.
